Man gives up guns after mistakenly shooting dog

A Hong Kong man promised to give up guns as a hobby

after being fined for accidentally shooting his

neighbor's dog in the eye.

The 57-year-old man from Yuen Lon, surnamed Chan, said

he bought an air gun because he wanted a hobby in his

spare time.

Chan claimed he was practicing at home when he

accidentally shot the dog. He was fined HK$15,000

($2,000) and ordered to pay HK$5,700 to his neighbor.

He told the judge he would no longer play with guns

and had instead asked his son to show him how to play

computer games on the Internet.
