1. FROM THE DESK OF HONY. GEN. SECRETARY:

I always keep spreading messages/e-mails asking for continuous help by way

of donation and support. But rarely I get a help in form of small donation

amount. Now the position of the organization is very tough, I request all my

supporters to transfer your contributions to PAWS A/C. *008801026804 **with

ICICI bank. This will help PAWS to continue helping animals in distress.*

Yours for Animals,

3. SOME NOTABLE FIELD CALLS:

## PAWS received a call from a Dr. Shirke from Sliver Heaven society in

Dombivli that One bitch littered in their society s staircase & it is

stinking. They want us to remove the dog from that locality & take her some

other area. PAWS Trustee Mrs. Anjali Ekbote & PAWS long time volunteer Ms.

Rakhee De went there & cleared the entire place, removed ticks from the

pups, cleaned them and shifted them to the society s back premises wherein

no-one will get disturbed due to dogs & the pups and mother will get

protection & shed. Once the pups are raised will get the bitch sterilized,

get pups vaccinated. PAWS will also put-up a notice on that society s notice

board to inform dog s issue & awareness. The problem of the society is

solved peacefully. This is just an example to solve the problem without

fighting & protecting human attitude.

## PAWS office received a request from its volunteer Shirley Amanna that one

animal care-taker Ms. Kala Nair of Nalasopara needs help for getting all her

premises dogs sterilized. She already looks after more then 22 dogs in her

premises. Out of which 7 bitches, she wanted to get them sterilized so that

they don t multiply. Since it was hectic for PAWS to send the ambulance from

Dombivli to Nalasopara, then Nalasopara to IDA & back to Dombivli, PAWS

requested IDA President Ms. Goodicia Vaidya to send one of its vans to

Nalasopara. PAWS paid money for fuel on behalf of that lady for this

out-of-way trip. Finally with the help from IDA & PAWS, all her bitches got

sterilized. This is another sample about a huge network of animal-lovers can

be band together for a cause and together help the speechless.

## A 2 feet long Monitor Lizard came inside the Factory in Ambernath MIDC,

wherein our PAWS secretary is working there as secretary to director

currently. He immediately swung into action & rescued the monster. Later the

lizard was released safely in Badlapur forest area.

4. WORLD ANTI-RABIES DAY EVENT!

PAWS team comprising Sonali, Anuradha, Nilesh, Bhartesh, Darshna, Anahita &

Lalita, PAWS staff Mohan joined with Mr. Ramesh Ayer who feeds & looks after

stray animals in Thakurli area & Dombivli MIDC area. All the dogs over 40

are being vaccinated against rabies by PAWS on World Anti-Rabies Day. PAWS

every year organize such camp in the same area.

The event was very successful & PAWS is the only charity who organized

Anti-Rabies drive in entire Thane District on World Rabies Day.

1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves

1/2 tsp. dried oregano

1/2 tsp. dried marjoram

1/4 tsp. fennel seeds, crushed in a mortar & pestle

1/2 tsp. salt (or to taste)

black pepper (to taste)

2 cups water
