Guest guest
R.A.W. came to know about a group of people who had killed 2 flamingos at a pond in village Barkheda near Shivdaspura , 30kms from Jaipur City. R.A.W members – Revolutionaries ...Rituja Srivastava,Kamil Malik n Bhatti along with Jaipur Zoo Authority ( with the kind cooperation of the Deputy Chief Wild Life Warden Mr. S. C. Gupta) reached the spot immediately and talked to the villagers to know the identity of the hunters but the people appeared too terrified to speak. After investigating constantly a local told – he saw some unidentified people moving in boats were killing the birds with firearms almost everyday from the last 2-3 days. After investigating further in village, our team found out the man..who had helped the Flamingo hunters.. riding the boat in pond. The boat rider was immediately arrested and the story unfolded. The pond is owned by a powerful localite who facilitated the hunters- killers. He was also arrested henceforth. ..The real motive about these people killing the birds is not known, also the dead bodies of the birds are not discovered till now.The accused had been arrested and had been send to Jhotwara jail , PaniPech , Jaipur. With R.A.W's prompt action we were able to save some more flamingo life's as these barbarians had gone insane...killing two birds everyday. Flamingo's prefer brackish water and the Sambhar lake in the district is known to be their largest congregration spot in Rajasthan. This is the first time flock of flamingos had been spotted near Barkheda village. Flamingos(Phoenicopteridae) is listed in the ScheduleIV of the Wildlife Protection Act,1972.
