Your complaint to ASCI against the TVC of " Alpenliebe "

Ref: Our e-mail of 4/10/07

 

 

A similar complaint received against the same TVC under reference was

considered by the Consumer Complaints Council (CCC) at their last meeting

(26/9/07), at which time the CCC viewed the TVC.

 

 

 

As per their decision, the complaint was *Upheld* as the advertisement

contravened Chapter III.4 of the Code. The CCC concluded that the visual

depiction of " a visitor feeding a crocodile in a zoo " , was in apparent

violation of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972. The advertisement was in

breach of the law.

 

 

 

We had requested the Advertiser to withdraw the said advertisement, to

which, we have now received their assurance that the TVC has been modified

appropriately.

 

On this basis we will treat this matter as closed.
