The Government Railway Police on friday, October 26,

2007 recovered 30kg of ivory from a train heading

for New Delhi, the Brahmaputra mail.

No person was arrested in this regard as they

perhaps would have fled on seeing the routine police

check.

It may be noted that in April last 1.8kg of ivory

was detected at by the Jet Airways cargo x-ray staff

in Guwahati airport which was bound for Kolkata. A

local courier agent was arrested then.
