GEN SECRTARY' S DESK: Last week I got call from one of my volunteers that a horse was injured while being used in Tonga or Horse Cart. I feel that the responsibility to battle such cruelties to animals lies with each one of us. We all need to imbibe a sense of awareness amongst our families to stop using animal carts as well as spread the message in schools & colleges. Rescuing injured cattle was a big problem all these years, it still continues, albeit in a different way, and I am sure everyone knows about it. So let us start an awareness campaign. If anyone is willing to help us arrange the awareness program, then let us know on 9820161114 or e-mail directly to nilesh Thank You for making difference to the life of animals! Yours for Animals, Nilesh Bhanage >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2. SOME NOTABLE FIELD CALLS # On 17th September, PAWS office received a call from its trustee Mrs. Neeta Parwatay that a donkey owner who was using donkeys for loading bricks was actually overloading them. PAWS secretary intervened in the matter & the bricks were unloaded. PAWS trustee Neeta gave a strict warning to them. # On 22nd September, we received a call from our volunteer Crystal Fernandez from Kalyan that the head of a dog was stuck inside a plastic bottle, we promptly swung into action and with much efforts from volunteers, were finally able to rescue the dog by cutting the bottle neck. We appreciate the efforts taken by our new volunteer Crystal. # PAWS office received a call from one of its volunteer Mr. Oozy Briganza on 23rd October that one bitch had littered 6 pups & somebody had thrown the pups in the gutter – away from its mother. Oozy managed to rescue 2 puppies and took them back to their mother. The Society members did raise their objection to it. So the PAWS team took the steps to vaccinate the bitch against rabies. Also had a word with all concerned shop-owners & society people to resolve the matter. PAWS also promised them to get the dog sterilized. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3.
