Guest guest
Dear All In the malayala Manorama report on 10th November 2007 Neyyattinkara Municipality (the article is in malaylam but translated it basically says:) The street dags are a menace ;: 1177 street dogs have been killed . Just as the complaint about the menace of the street dogs are on the rise, the Nayyattinkara corporation has stated they have killed as many as 1177 dogs during the span of the last six months .The complaints are the clear evidence that there are more dogs yet to be killed. The municipality has published the list of the numbers of the dogs and the amount of the pay for the killing towards the knowledge of the members of the council. May -363 payed 7260rs June 276 payed 5520rs August 207payed 5240rs Sept 276 5520rs All at a rate of 20rs a dog. As per the calculations above, its learnt that they spend tens of thousands of rupees on the dogs , this money could be better spent elsewhere. The dogs are mostly found in public places where they get food in plenty and in the markets in Aaralummudu, Amalavila, Perumpazhuthur, Olathanni, all the worse places for street dogs. this article was written by Sudheer Tel2222774 Neyyattinkara Municipality is admitting ,( it is to be believed by this article by the above Sudheer for the Malayala Manorama ) it is killing the dogs, illegally, and is doing nothing whatsoever that is in line with rules and regulations on the issue. Can something be done about this??? I have the article but have not scanned it in as it is in malaylam . thank you avis lyons www.animalrescuekerala.org Answers - Get better answers from someone who knows. Tryit now.
