Pet Connection authors have a nationally syndicated news column. I wrote

Gina and Christie that I'm appreciative they have awakened to some truths

about shelter killing and are promoting Nathan Winograd's 2007 book

Redemption (self-described as a 'blueprint for change') and that I'm

grateful for Nathan's work. I shared with them how I realized the

magnitude of animal homelessness and killing in 2000 while volunteering at

a no-kill cat shelter and immediately began searching for and promoting

high-impact solutions; how I quickly came upon Bob Christiansen's 1998

book, Save Our Strays and that was my blueprint for change along with the

writings from other progressive animal leaders, many hosted on Bob's

original website. I shared the Save Our Strays book link with Gina and

Christie, if they haven't read it!
