Guest guest
Thanks for sharing this data.. This only proves that elephant polo is soon catching up! Football has been around since ages as a sport every kid in every little street would have heard off... Elephant polo considered at this point as something associated with the tycoons, the rich and wealthy has taken these many hits more importantly if you had to consider the fact that it has come into the limelight barely a year or 2 years ago. You may argue it has been around, but its slowly taking the center stage and thats been happening in the last 2 years only. Guest guest
> Elephant polo: 66,983< Great, and let me add this input as well. During the anti 'Cartier Elephant Polo' campaign, PETA-India alone through its petition alert managed to pump approximately on an average 12000 signature petitions a day. Whoa....never heard of something so awesome. Don`t believe me? Cross check with Ms. Anuradha Sawhney, Chief Functionary, PETA-India at: anuradhas Azam Siddiqui Member: PETA-India On Nov 26, 2007 2:48 PM, Merritt Clifton <anmlpepl wrote: > >One such requirement for a sport to develop a large following or die > >down is the media and press publicity. > > Search hits-- > > Football: 38,822,733 > Tennis: 22,527,592 > Basketball: 19,915,226 > Baseball: 19,462,019 > Hockey: 14,504,463 > Swimming: 11,482,250 > Track and field: 8,906,356 > Cricket: 8,280,736 > Boxing: 8,278,158 > Volleyball: 5,657,261 > Ping-pong 3,416,992 > Badminton: 1,772,165 > > Paint drying: 1,321,916 > > Elephant polo: 66,983 > > -- > Merritt Clifton > Editor, ANIMAL PEOPLE > P.O.
