Guest guest
URGENT sign-on request: We have credible information that orcas are expected to be captured in Taiji, Japan under the pretext of scientific research. We are now preparing to send a formal letter to the Japanese authorities, asking them to deny the capture permit and to conduct a proper scientific population study of orcas in Japanese waters. According to the Japanese Fisheries Agency, 1200 orcas have been slaughtered in Japan since 1954. 65 were sold to dolphinariums, and most of them died there. .. It's going to take some time to gather all the facts and compose the letter. At this point, we are gathering a list of NGOs who are willing to sign-on. If you want to be included, please contact me ASAP. Here's who we have so far: Animal Welfare Institute Elsa Nature Conservancy Earth Island Institute In Defense of Animals Thanks, - ric www.SaveJapanDolphins.org
