The items were paddy transplantation, coconut palm climbing, digging with spade and bullock race. In the paddy transplantation competition, Kaliyammal from Palakkad district came first by transplanting 6.65 sq metre area in 5 minutes. By climbing on a 10 m high coconut tree in 21.1 seconds Sreejith T C from Kannur bagged the first prize. In the digging with spade competition Manjan P M from Kozhikode came first by covering 6.75 sq metre area in 5 minutes. For bullock race there were in all 32 entries of which only 10 qualified to take part in the competition. In the race held in a specially prepared track inside the KAU's Agriculture Research Station at Mannuthy, the pair of bullocks of Kudu Bakery, Mannarkad in Palakkad won the first prize by covering the 170 metre track in 19.78seconds.
