Bikaner, Dec.19: A family in a Rajasthan village recently organised a marriage

ceremony of an cow with a bull amidst much fanfare.

Lakhs of rupees were spent in the arrangement to ensure that it equals the real

life marriage organised as per Indian tradition. People from 84 villages were

invited for the wedding ceremony.

" We have organised this cow-bull wedding for a religious purpose. The money that

we earn comes from various sources and so we believe that spending it on this

ceremony will absolve us of all our sins, " said Gopal Ram, the organiser.

Both-the cow and bull-were dressed or decorated like a bride and bridegroom. A

'Baraat' or, the marriage procession supported by music was also taken out in

the streets just like it is done in any Indian marriage.

Thousands of villagers converged to attend the special marriage that was

solemnised as per Vedic rituals and amidst hymns. The guests relished a grand

feast comprising non-vegetarian food besides other items served on the occasion.

" This marriage was a spectacular event for the villagers. A similar wedding took

place at Gangashahar Village a few months back. At that time too, the entire

village attended the function till late night. Villagers thronged this wedding

to be blessed by God and absolved of their sins, " said Satish Tadeek, one of the

villagers.
