GEN SECRETARY: One more year has quietly slipped away leaving behind a treasure trove of memoriesE.all the hard work, rescue acts, exciting campaigns, drives & camps for animals. Along with this, we saw many Ups & downs. An entire yearwhich also saw lot of comp romises on the personal and professional lives of each of PAWS volunteers. We tried our best to help as many animals as possible. Our staff & ambulances worked long hours to rescue the needy animals. I would like to thank all those who donated their valuable time and money to the cause taken-up by PAWS. I would also like to thank those volunteers who went out-of-their-way to help PAWS during the year. What a year it was! I remember a few lines of 'Crystal Rogers' who founded 3 organizations in India namely 'The Animal's Friend' in Delhi, 'Help In Suffering' in Jaipur & 'CUPA' in Bangalore. 'I shut my eyes and see the little girl I knew myself to be, eighty years ago, racing barefoot down a slope after a bunch of colourful, fluttering butterflies. Not to catch them. Not to break their wings. Not to preserve them in a jar to show off to friends. I know now that the girl was chasing after them to share their freedom.' With the above mission in mind, in this New Year, we pledge to work with total dedication, enthusiasm, and motivation always. We will respect each other, honour each others suggestions, and strive to form a result oriented PAWS team working away for the glory of animals. 1. URGENT ATTENTION - SOS: PAWS is always in need of funds as it is largely dependent on local donations from animal lovers, volunteers & supporters like you. We thank crystal for her tireless work for animals. ## We congratulate Prasad for rescuing maggot-wounded dog from Shelar Naka area, Dombivli. We were unable to catch this dog even by a grasper as he was running amok. We then called the Darting person from Mumbai who was on a vis it for 2 days to dart but unfortunately we could not find the dog in time, finally Prasad saw that dog in deep gutter. He along with our driver cum r escuer Mohan went inside the gutter & retrieved the dog which was lying with hundreds of Maggots on its neck. The dog is fine now & recuperating at IDA hospital. 1.
