Almost every time the poachers outwit the guards and one more rhino,

one more tiger, one more elephant is killed.

As the whole nation debates on how to put an end to the poaching

incidents, 2 wildlifers from India have decided to put an end to the

poacher's honeymoon. They have decided to take it upon themselves to

outwit the poachers to save our wildlife by adopting some of the best

technological solutions available in the world and hoping to

introduce them in India at the earliest.

" Technology is undoubtedly the norm of the day. If the poachers use

the best equipment available, we want to use better equipment

available as of date to stop them doing so. We are looking at seeking

help with some international authorities to learn tactics and use of

the latest technological solution which could aid curbing this

menace " is what one of them had to say when contacted at his

residence in Karnataka state.

Pointing out that technology curbs poaching, the other wildlifer

talks about this exercise to be a very practical solution and not

just another gimmick. " We would reveal the details only after there

is a significant advancement in this mission " he added.

The following news report is also an excellent example technology

plays in curbing poaching and cross border smuggling.

OUR CORRESPONDENT

Shillong, Jan. 6: The BSF shot dead a cattle smuggler at Gudligaon

village in the Mankachar area bordering Garo Hills, adjacent to

Dhubri district of Assam, on Sunday.

The police said the use of high-tech thermal images helped the BSF to

spot a gang of cattle smugglers along the border. The cattle

smuggler, identified as Bakul Mia from Gudligaon village, was killed

in the firing. The other members of the gang escaped.

The BSF tried to prevent them from entering Bangladesh along with the

cattle. It found 5kg ganja in the dead man's possession.
