Guest guest Posted January 10, 2008 Report Share Posted January 10, 2008 Link: http://www.assamtribune.com/scripts/details.asp?id=jan1008\State11* Tuskers wreak havoc in Narayanpur * From Our Correspondent narayanpur, Jan 9 – A herd of wild elephants has caused extensive damage to properties, granaries, sugar cane plantations, mustard oil seed plants, valuable trees, banana plantations, houses and other resources of hundreds of families of Kamarbari, Bordeurigaon, Tengapathar, Raidingia, Chandhapunia, Borbil, Panbari and Mazghat under Narayanpur revenue circle and Bodoti in Jamuguri and Ksuduguri and other villages under Bihpuria Revenue circle. The wild elephants caused extensive damages to properties including paddy granaries of more than 30 families on Monday at midnight. The tuskers also killed one Biswajit Deuri recently. The worst-affected persons on Monday were Biswa Phukan, Atul Borua, Sadhan Dutta, Nip Phukan, Jogen Phukan, Biju Baruah, Kula Phukan, Jogneswar Boruah of Kamarbari, Putul Bhuyan, Hamaruddin Ali, Dulal Bhuyan, Mohendra Dutta, Lakhi Kanta Saikia, Makhan Bora, Bipul Saikia, Puneswar Dutta, Munu Dutta and Prafulla Dutta, among others. -- United against elephant polo http://www.stopelephantpolo.com Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
