Sharp blades are tied to the claws of the two attacking birds, who fight each other with the intention to kill. At the end of the fight the animals have injuries that may lead to the death of the animals. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has meanwhile written to the district administration authorities to urgently intervene against holding such fights as they are in contravention of Section 11 (1) (m) (ii) and Section 11 (1) (n) of the Prevention Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, 1960.
