Guwahati, Thursday, 24 January, 2008:

 

Assam Cabinet Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Mr. Himanta

Biswa Sharma has announced that the people of Assam need not panic from Dog

bites.

Any citizen who gets bitten by a homeless dog can avail free shots ( at

least three) of Rabipur etc (anti-rabies) from any primary health centre or

any Government medical " FREE of COST " .

 

This announcement send a positive signal that unlike the other states of

Karnataka, Tamil Nadu & Hyderabad etc who have been ruthlessly eliminating

the population of homeless dogs, the state of Assam proves yet again that

Dog is indeed considered as Man`s best Friend here.
