The Murlidhars, who have been residents of the society for the past six years, were shocked to receive a notice from the society saying that they could no longer keep their pet dog, which had been with them for more than a year. The Murlidhars sought help from the Plant and Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), which issued a notice to the building's committee, warning them of legal action if the family was troubled. The society chairman, R D Wadhawan, has written to PAWS saying that the comm ittee's decision on pet dogs will be reconsidered. " We would also like to state that the majority of the society members are of the opinion that the members should be allowed to keep their pets subject to the conditions of law, " said the chairman in the letter. -- Nilesh Bhanage +91 9820161114 www.pawsasia.org
