Thanks for posting this link Azam. Just glanced through the list of

speakers. Robert Lacy, Chairman of the Conservation Breeding Specialist

Group of IUCN is one of the leading proponents of culling. Conservation

breeding is a grandiose title for a pitifully inadequate initiative that has

taken the lives of uncounted millions of captive animals. Many thanks again

for posting this; I am sure the event has its share of supporters in India.

conservation breeding is a name change from captive breeding, its all the same.

an enterprise of the zoo community in the false name of conservation. this is

basically a ruse for them to obtain specimens of banned endangered species for

display.

this lobbey had even come up with proposal for captive breeding of

elephants.
