A three-day meeting of the field directors of India's parks and sanctuaries is set to begin on Thursday at Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh. On the agenda is not only tiger conservation but also the relocation of tribals out of protected areas. The meeting assumes significance in light of the falling tiger population numbers. The latest tiger census has put the numbers of the big cat at just 1,411. -- United against elephant polo http://www.stopelephantpolo.com
