Guest guest
Living with 40 dogs and 10 cats is like living with 50 Boddhisattvas... for someone, who has the sensitivity to feel their love and to understand their silent language. Their territory happens to be a spacious house in a spacious (walled) garden with a fantastic view in the hill-country of Sri Lanka with its lovely mild climate and they invite you to stay with them for a month or longer next summer. Their caretaker would like to visit her aging parents in the country of her birth (Germany) and therefore she has to leave her adopted family of 50 four-leggeds in the care of someone, who would like to spend next summer-holidays in exactly such a place: peaceful and quiet... except for occassional outbreaks of barking or huuuu! ...usually if someone comes this way, which doesn't happen often. Most of the cats and dogs are between one and three years, few oldies are also amongst them, one is slightly handicapped, all are rescued strays... but they seem to have forgotten their past. In the morning a lovely young lady called Anoma comes from the nearby village to feed them and to clean the house for four hours, in the late afternoon Chutti-Akka comes to cook the breakfast, and to give the evening-meal. Both of them love the animals and take good care of them, but you are needed to be around, not necesssarly round the clock every day, but much of the time. The house has all the comforts you may need, including telephone and Internet-access. Two other German animal-lovers and rescuers live two minutes away with another 60 dogs and will assist you if you need a translator to communicate with Anoma and Chutti-Akka, or any other help. If you feel this is meant for you, please e-mail us soon! p.s.: of course a Sri Lankan would also be welcome... if there is one, who is free to spend a month away from home.
