Guest guest Posted March 19, 2008 Report Share Posted March 19, 2008 Animals Asia Foundation is seeking a full-time Animal Welfare Director based in HK The Animals Asia Foundation is a charity devoted to the needs of wild and domesticated animals across the Asia region. We are seeking creative and dynamic individuals who care about animals and the environment to join our team. Position: Animal Welfare Director (Hong Kong-based) This is a full-time position with primary responsibilities for overseeing the planning, development and roll-out management of project strategies to promote animal welfare in Asia through public education programs and the effective dissemination of the latest research. Main Job Responsibilities: · Oversee the management and development of our successful Asia-wide Dr. Dog animal therapy programme and Professor Paws animal education programme; oversee the examination of new therapy dogs; guiding start-ups in Asian countries · Work closely with senior management on developing project strategies, with particular focus on companion animal welfare issues · Maintain and disseminate up-to-date information / research / reports on Asian animal welfare issues. Formulate official Animals Asia responses to project-related issues, such as dog culls, bird flu, tiger farming, wildlife trafficking, TNR etc. · Give regular presentations to schools, universities, communities and business groups about Animals Asia's " Moon Bear Rescue " , " Friends... or Food? " campaign, Dr. Dog and Professor Paws programmes. · Assist with the content and development of public education materials related to all of Animals Asia's projects, such as conference posters, story boards, leaflets, reports, banners etc., including development of AAF's kid's website. · Attend various animal welfare conferences and present oral and / or written papers on the work of Animals Asia. Helping with the organisation of symposiums and conferences that AAF is involved with. · Act as an advisor and oversee small grant opportunities for Animals Asia to assist with related outside projects. Requirements: · Minimum five years' experience in a related field; · Minimum 2 years experience working in Asia; · Comprehensive knowledge of animal welfare issues, particularly in Asia; · Must be highly motivated, creative and organized; · Strong leadership skills, as well as a team player; · Excellent communication, networking and public speaking skills; · Willing to travel and work on weekends; · Fluent English speaker with excellent written skills; · Basic PC and word processing skills Please send your cover letter, expected salary and CV, with “Animal Welfare Director” in the subject line, via email to: <hrhkghrhkg Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
