PAWS ANTI-CRUELTY REPORT -YEAR 2007-08

## On 13 th March, Preeti Paul - our volunteer from Ulhasnagar, who

cares for dogs in her society, called us because her society members did

not approve of her animal care and were creating problems for her. They

were also using abusive and filthy language.. PAWS sent a strong letter

to society as the dogs in her care are properly vaccinated & also

sterilized. So they are totally harmless & are good watchdogs. After

PAWS sent the letter, the matter was solved amicably.

## On March 18, Ms. Pooja Kekre, an animal lover from Dombivli phoned

PAWS that her society wanted to abandon a small puppy & her mother in

another area. This is a cruelty since a dog from one area is not

accepted by dogs from another area. These results into fights & finally

animals get injured. On her complaint, PAWS sent a strong letter to

society, rescued the injured dog which is now recuperating. Now society

does not create any problem to animals but sadly, the puppy is still

missing.

## In January, PAWS team fought against the society of Vishal Murlidhar

wherein society members had raised an objection against objected him for

keeping pets. PAWS wrote a strong letter condemning the action and also

by involving media. & got success. The newspaper clipping was circulated

widely. As a result we received among everyone for their use. We had

very huge response & for the same & secretary received a calls from

Fizzah of IDA India, Snehal Bhatt of GSPCA, Suparna Ganguly of CUPA,

Manoj Oswal of PFA Pune and, Sunish of PAWS Mumbai. They were keen who

wanted to see the letters which our secretary duly forwarded to them.

Smt. Maneka Gandhi also enquired about the same.

bullfight events scheduled for the month were cancelled. But the goal is

register the case.
