Guest guest
http://mydayinparadise.blogspot.com/2008/05/when-animals-are-important-than-huma\ ns.html Monday, May 12, 2008 When Animals are important than Humans! India, the Incredible India <http://incredibleindia.org/>, a campaign by those in power to remain in power. Reality - bites dust. The other side of the coin - too ugly. Watchdogs - people wasting taxpayers money watching Dogs (PS: pun intended). Recently, the Incredible India <http://incredibleindia.org/>, and the Heart of India campaigns have gained momentum. Advertisements running on almost every channel portray India as one the best cultures and countries in the world! Why not, everyone is proud of his/her own motherland. But, is it justified to turn a blind eye to say, that country is progressing. Does mere statistical numbers in a pinch of areas showcase the development. For me, STRICTLY NO! I beg to differ. Let me take a sweep around the news tales which evoked this thought, which forced me to write. *Cruelty to Mascot Pug<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Vodafone_denies_cruelty_to_mascot_p\ ug/rssarticleshow/3004395.cms> * On April 25, 2008, the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) summoned Vodafone on charges of cruelty to Animals. Their allegation , *(PS: The advertisement was shot in South Africa!)* The pet dog was made to run, gallop and chase the school van for a long time on a public road. Thereby, the dog was made to undergo severe pain and suffering due to the exhaustion caused by chasing (the bus). What a wonderful thought! A commercial does not last more than 30 to 60 seconds, and a shot not more than 15 seconds (figures as per my observations). If the AWBI is so worried about the PUG dog, have they charged the Indian Police with cruelty too, for they own dogs which are made to run after criminals for hours. How about dogs which are kept at the airports to sniff out drugs? Isn't that cruelty - knowingly you are forcing a dog to sniff drugs? Anyways, moving on to the other side of the coin. All the same newspapers which carried the above News, also carried some more stories. Read below, Mentally challenged girl tied to a cart.<http://www.ibnlive.com/news/tied-to-a-cart-plight-of-a-mentally-challenged\ -girl/65090-3.html> Surat cops in the dock for 'torturing' kids in custody<http://www.ibnlive.com/news/surat-cops-in-the-dock-for-torturing-kids-in\ -custody/64398-3-1.html> Napping couple sealed in house by zealous MCD<http://www.ibnlive.com/news/napping-couple-sealed-in-house-by-zealous-mcd/64\ 687-3-1.html> It seems the authoritative have turned a blind eye to humans and have taken the meaning of their role, literally, *watchdogs* are only *watching dogs.*It seems quite a humorous read but if think deeply, and you would be ashamed of the reality. This is Incredible India <http://incredibleindia.org/> - A country where anything can happen! A country where everything is possible! A country where dogs are more important than fellow brethren! A country where duties are performed to the letters in the book!
