Guest guest
As always it is a honor to be part of this AAPN community, my comments below are personal and nonaffiliated. I think it is a miracle that AFA exists and here are ways to perhaps make it better as surely the models from the previous AFA's can evolve: 1. info and resolutions available from the last AFA (what " lessons learned " came out of that?) 2. Even though everyone is busy preparing and attending the conference some way to include people who cannot attend - if we are not advanced enough for online attendance at least some effort to post the daily sessions online. Maybe this is being planned to be incorporated into the AFA blog. 3. What and who is AFA, is it " just " a conference? It is a collection of groups/people that exists outside the conference and is it evolving into that? Who determines where the AFA will be, is there a bidding process like the Olympics on a much smaller scale. Is there a budget? What is the criteria for sponsorship of people needing that to attend, is that just for invited speakers? I know that everyone who organizes AFA has their own organization and work and little time but am just mentioning for further clarifications when and if there is time as appropriate. Of course, there is crying need for an all India conference/better communication with the India groups and would hope to attend that some day either in person or online. kind regards,
Guest guest
Hi , I think it is a great idea to publish info and resolutions made during the last and future AFA conferences. We should also look into posting the daily sessions online so that more people can benefit from the conference. AFA is it just a conference and is an informal group of representatives from various NGOs. At this point, it consist of previous and current AFA organisers and sponsors. This informal group determines where the AFA will be held and there isn't a bidding process. The group gets together, discusses who hs shown an interest to host the next AFA and chooses from there. There was a request during the last session to establish a formal AFA board but the decision from the majority of people was that it is better to leave it informal.
