Guest guest Posted June 16, 2008 Report Share Posted June 16, 2008 Dear all, 12 Volunteers from PAWS, 40 Volunteers from Harliyali & 80 Students from Kalsekar College, Mumbra joined the Mass Tree Plantation organized by 'Hariyali Trust', Thane on 15th of May 2008. The program started from 8am & went till 2.00pm. In all 1,150 saplings planted during the session. The saplings were sponsored by Mahindra & Mahindra. The Plantation took place on Bhavale forestland near Kalyan city. All saplings of assorted species of forest-friendly, fruit-bearing trees for birds, as also, medicinal plants were planted out of a total target of 25,000 trees to be planted at the site during the current monsoon by Hariyali Trust with other like-minded NGO's, Community Groups, Schools & Colleges. During the session we found a small snake which was released near water pond & we also found small mix Labrador black pup which was actually had a belt on neck was adopted immediate on the spot by PAWS volunteer George Varghese.
