Guest guest
This is certainly great news. However, for those interested in animal welfare, the work must continue to ensure that these gentle souls are treated with the dignity they deserve and are entitled to. We must ensure that no more elephants are made captive to carry tourists (to get a feel of the " real India " ??) or for begging. S. Guest guest
Developments on all fronts in India regarding this game have been positive in the recent past, but I still think it is too early for any celebration. I would err on the side of caution. We are close, indeed we are coming closer with each new move and new message against this sport, but we have not reached our goal yet so I would advise restraint and caution before we become too complacent. In a campaign of this scale it is important never to underestimate the strength of the opposition. After all, the elephant polo lobby is an international lobby whose influence goes well beyond India. I would like to see official confirmation on the state of elephant polo in Rajasthan from the organisers before we accept this news as authentic. But I must say Azam's leadership on this issue has been phenomenal. We were supposed to meet today, but narrowly missed.
