Guest guest
NYT: Cat Got Your Fish? By PAUL GREENBERG - Op Ed http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/22/opinion/22greenberg.html?em Interesting bit in the NYT today about how we seem to be eating ourselves from the inside outward from a global perspective, with wild fish being the mince-meat for the fish meal & oil industry as one example. From the article: ³The rising demand, particularly from Asia, is fueling a perilous trend to ³reduce² bigger and more valuable wild fish into pig, chicken and fish feed.² I am not doubting Mr. Greenberg, but does anyone have any figures / explanations why this would be true? Or is it just a statistical anomaly that Asians are using up more wild fish to feed domestic animals. Us cats here in Kathmandu wanna know, thx.
