While she may not be directly involved in any field work that PAWS has organized, she has taken ownership of few but nevertheless important causes of the organization and understood " PAWS need to sustain in today's world " . Although this internship may be part of her college project, but the quality work & output was amazing. Now Nisha will go back to Pune to continue her MBA, but she decided to become a volunteer for PAWS & I am sure all you will appreciate her to be the part of our PAWS Team. Lets see what Nisha has to say about overall PAWS team & about positive & negative things... I take back with me lot of memories and learning that PAWS has given me. I'm a copywriter/content writer by profession. I draft content for communication material like Print/TV Ads, emailers, brochures, etc. However, my internship at PAWS tested me on a lot of things beyond copywriting: Networking Skills, designing, business communication, etc. PAWS has been very kind to acknowledge my work and appreciate whatever help was provided. But with all honesty, though I've tried to get sponsorship in the past for other projects (other than PAWS), this is the first time that I've managed to crack it. Maybe because PAWS has one sincere cause for all its work: welfare of animals. And then suddenly I find people who would normally avoid all communication if anything money/sponsorship related work is involved, going all out to support my work! The positives of working with PAWS (And I'm sure all volunteers agree with me on this) * Complete Freedom and support to take up projects from start to finish, with valuable inputs wherever required, but never so much that would be belittling. * Quick response on all jobs/help required towards completion of tasks * Flexibility in working (work from home/online) * Hospitality at PAWS office from both Nilesh & Manasi * Acknowledgement of work (very few companies in the corporate world ever recognize or appreciate all those extra hours/dedication you put in and don't care when you join/resign) Instead of negatives, I'd term them as opportunities to improve: * Quality of work very important: be it the website, corporate stationery & identity, a little bit stress on quality (be it better paper/better designing) would go a long way in improving efficacy and enhancing scope of central theme that PAWS wishes to promote, even though it means an extra buck or extra hours of work * Have a vision and mission incorporated in all communication: PAWS has built great history, this needs to be encapsulated in one central statement that talk about what is & what will be the future for PAWS; its vision (say PAWS vision 2012) * Greater demarcation of work: Let there be better defining of roles - who's to do what and what more? * Network: Everyone's contacts together can make a big database for PAWS, whatever vendors / supporter that each volunteer approaches let it be inbuilt into the central database. Regards, Nisha We all thank u Nisha for wonderful time you had with us....I will look into your suggestions..
