(IN): WAZA concerned on Giraffe death & CZA statement

Kindly refer to the Giraffe accident and the Central Zoo authority Chief`s

comments made to the press.

 

In a significant development, the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums

WAZA has categorically stated that the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) happens

to be a member of the Association.

This raises several questions:

 

1. On what grounds did CZA apply for membership if it disowns

responsibilities to check mistreatment of Zoo inmates in India of non-Indian

origin?

 

2. Was the WORLD not aware of the CZA guidelines all these years?

 

3. What happens next?

 

I have formally lodged a complaint on the statement of the CZA Chief made to the

press.

 

Shall update on any further developements.
