Guest guest
Please note that the Giraffe died in the custody of the Nandankanan Zoo officials so there should be action against them too. Guest guest
The news of the Giraffe's death was given to the media by Debasisda himself. He has appeared on television discussing this. Media interviews raise awareness. Regarding legal steps, we are considering including this incident in the ongoing case against Alipore Zoo. However, as I said, this Giraffe died in the custody of Nandankanan Zoo officials so the onus for the animal's demise rests principally on them. Ultimately, thanks to the efforts of Compassionate Crusaders Trust/People for Animals Kolkata, Alipore Zoo will be shifted within the next couple of years to a new location. Thus radical zoo reform in the local context is only a matter of when, not if. Guest guest
Great, please keep us posted on the developments. You are the best person to be updating us on this issue as you are based in Kolkata city. I am sure the information and developments needs proper circulation on AAPN and other groups/ organizations in India as well as abroad who have shown concern and respect for the non-Indian zoo inmates in Indian prisons. Thanks, Azam On Thu, May 29, 2008 at 3:55 PM, < journalistandanimals wrote: > The news of the Giraffe's death was given to the media by Debasisda > himself.
