Dear Friends of Animals,

 

My name is Praveen volunteering for the group - www.hopeandanimal.org.

 

We are running Animal Birth Control Program in Ranchi - Jharkhand.

 

Our concept and idea was based on minimum resources, hence it got accepted

by the Ranchi Municipal Corporation and now they are partly funding the

program. We achieved this success after Seven years, if we would not have

taken this initiative, we do not know how many more years we could have

waited to help the street dogs and control their population for their better

living.

 

In September 2006 we signed MOU with the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC)

for Pet Dog Registration (License) under RMC Act 2001 - The pet dog

registration work was carried until 31st March 2007 where 1100 registrations

(Rs. 100/- per pet registration amounting Rs. 1,10,000.00) are recorded. In

2007 RMC continued the last MOU including the running of ABC program in

Ranchi with the money raised through PET DOG REGISTRATION (License). This

time we raised Rupees 77,000/- (until 31st March 2008)

 

*In short we raised funds to run our ABC program in Ranchi. *

 

After Five months we received the payment i.e. Rs. 52000/- (Three Months

pay)

 

This year the registrations are not happening, as people do not want to pay

Rs. 100/- every year - we have time until 31st March - we are hoping for

good - Currently Municipal Corporation does not have funds for this program

hence we do not know what is going to happen for our last two months pay as

well as future payments.

 

We have started visiting various clubs, companies in Ranchi but this part of

India - ??? - we are not getting success in raising funds.

 

We have some funds (raised in USA through our friends) through which we can

pull the program for about 3 more months.

 

We have request to you all if you could please send us Xylazine and Suture

Material (Catgut) - Xylazine is not available in Jharkhand.
