A section of conscious citizens maintain that a number of youths of these areas have entered the poacher's network after being lured by the prospect of making a fast buck. It is reported that the poachers promise up to Rs 12 lakh for each great bull owl and the bargain varies for other species of owls caught alive. Nature lovers have called upon the conservation NGOs of the locality to keep an eye on the deserted houses and solitary places in the villages, which are frequented by the fortune seekers in search of the owls. They have also called for protection of the 'bats', which are trapped with nets for consumption and their skin. -- United against elephant polo http://www.stopelephantpolo.com http://www.freewebs.com/azamsiddiqui
