(IN) Malayala Manorama rectifies its editorial on ABC

Many newspapers in Kerala have  been guilty of publishing misleading

and wrong news on the ABC programme in the past. I am delighted to see

this editorial. 

 

Even this report is not correct. The Supreme Court has upheld the validity of

the Dog Control Rules (ABC) under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

 

Full credit must go to A. G. Babu for his relentless pursuit for justice and

implementation of the Law and to Mrs. Avis Lyons who has suffered so much

injustice at the hands of corrupt officials; an indifferent press; and the

machinations of Corporation officials who have been cheating the citizens of

Trivandrum and murdering thousands of dogs just to line their own pockets.

 

Hats off to these two individuals - individuals can make a difference

but they have a price to pay sometimes.
