A warning was issued last night by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to dog lovers in the quiet communities in Bowen Road and Black's Link. The SPCA sent a team to The Peak immediately after it received a report that someone had found a piece of poisoned bait. Police were also alerted. A HK$160,000 reward donated by animal lovers has been posted for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer. According to the SPCA, more than 100 dogs have been killed by poisonous bait over the past several years. Dog owners and walkers have been advised to use a leash or a basket muzzle for their pets' protection. PATSY MOY
