Guest guest
Organizations should be contacting their donors directly and not via AAPN or any other network. I don't want to receive funding appeals or newsletters from groups via AAPN, which as I understood it was intended to be for breaking news and discussion of ideas and issues. I don't want to get emails from AAPN about local events either - such as pet contests or even spay/neuter clinics or rescues - unless they are precedent setting or inform a larger topic. I used to read everything that came from AAPN, but now there are so many postings of a redundant or largely insignificant nature that some days I delete it all without even reading it. Guest guest
I will be tightening up on all these things. One factor that has stopped me from being stricter in the past has been that I have felt that I ought to write a rejection slip for each post I reject - this process can be time-consuming. So, in future, I shall just delete posts that don't conform to the guidelines. I shall try to be fair but if anyone feels that a particular post should have been published, please write to me off list at: info or john John, Moderator, AAPN. _____ aapn [aapn ] On Behalf Of Kim Bartlett 14 October, 2008 3:21 AM aapn funding appeals and Indian Local News Importance: High Organizations should be contacting their donors directly and not via AAPN or any other network. Guest guest
Kim - I agree with you entirely - I have often been doing almost the same as yourself - deleting posts based on who the " author " is - I am inspired that John W. says that he is, at long last, changing the accept / reject policy. + + Nilesh - I am inspired by your " PAWS " site - you are close to the heart of Mumbai one of the worlds richest cities - build up your " list " of potential supporters & approach them regularly. Use aapn / similar Forums to get fundraising ideas - not directly for fund raising. Perhaps study very well how PETA work with " celebrities " - so many celeb's live right on your doorstep in Thane itself. aapn , Kim Bartlett <anpeople wrote: > > Organizations should be contacting their donors directly and not via > AAPN or any other network. Guest guest
I fully agree those discussions of ONLY ideas & issues which are not related to our rescue work & big theories on what's happened in USA or Europe, we just delete it without reading! I feel that we work here in fields & cannot digest suggestions and discussions on animal welfare from outside asia about how it can improve etc. etc. Regards, Nilesh Bhanage " The hands that help are holier than the lips that pray " . jwed [john] Tuesday, October 14, 2008 6:26 AM aapn RE: funding appeals and Indian Local News I will be tightening up on all these things.
