Guest guest
Dear John, FIAPO is moderated group wherein each e-mail circulation is under e-mail discussion, I don't think it is very useful! As far as AAPN is concern, I get help timely whenever my mail gets circulated. Many of my donors see my activities through AAPN only, I tried to post my newsletter @ FIAPO, I got reply 'FIAPO' does not promote any organization or any specific person etc. If we do not communicate what we do, then it is impossible to bring much need funds for our charities, why can't we start this within our groups only (Which is again under discussion till the date!) So therefore I request you do not skip my mails. Regards, Nilesh Bhanage www.pawsasia.org <http://www.pawsasia.org/> " The hands that help are holier than the lips that pray " . Dr John Wedderburn [john] Sunday, October 12, 2008 8:39 AM aapn Indian Local News Over the last couple of years, AAPN has received more and more items of purely local Indian interest. We have been happy to help with the development of on-line Indian discourse but the time has come to encourage the formation of a national Indian internet group. AAPN may therefore in future reject posts that are not of any interest to readers outside India. Items about major Indian events and trends will of course still be welcomed because these are of general Asian interest. For further information please contact FIAPO: http://indiananimalsfederation.org/ <http://indiananimalsfederation.org/> or myself. John, Moderator, AAPN. Guest guest
Dear Nilesh, This change in AAPN policy has been under consideration for two years - I believe it is supported by the majority of members. Obviously a national Indian internet forum is needed but it should not be AAPN. I think Indians have the choice between working to improve FIAPO or starting a new group. Indian posts will of course still be accepted if they are appear to be of interest to the wider Asian audience. There are many instances where what is done in India sets an example for workers in other countries to follow. Many of your enterprises in Mumbai are exemplary and should be known about throughout Asia. So summaries from time to time of what you are doing will be welcome; but regular updates of each rescue as it happens will not. There may well be a difficult grey area in between but I will do my best to be fair. Best wishes. Guest guest
Dear Nilesh, You and other people in India are welcome to post your news on the India Community of the Best Friends Network. India news often appears also on the International Friends Community, and occasionally on the Network Front Page. This site, of course, won't replace AAPN, which does an invaluable job of reaching people with news from across Asia, nor will it replace FIAPO or any other national India forum, but it is an additional option, and you can let your supporters know how to find your news on this site. There are some requirements: news must be inspiring, not depressing (we can work with you on how to accomplish this), and there must be no graphic details. Accounts of rescues of individual animals, wildlife, and birds are much appreciated! Stories may be included in either a Blog or in the News section of the India Community. To arrange this, please email me at sharonsj---please allow me a few days to reply. I do my best to reply promptly.
