Guest guest Posted September 6, 2008 Report Share Posted September 6, 2008 - http://www.care2.com/news/member/374874447/869048 A Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court has summoned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) activist Maneka Gandhi for illegaly freeing animals being taken for slaughter here. CJM Vipin Kumar also enquried the policemen about the delay in filing of chargesheet, even when the charges against the former Union Minister had been framed on June 8. The court had yesterday ordered her presentation after arrest and filing of the chargesheet on time. While heading towards Bareilly from Veesalpur on March 28 last, Ms Gandhi and her associates had got freed the animals being taken for slaughter. Four persons had been found guilty in this regard.
