Ms Radha from the organisation ASRA, went there and after a while when the latest supreme court stay order was served to the authorities, the killing was immediately stalled. Even though such killings will have to stop, as nobody can go against the supreme court order, yet it is advised that before even a single life is lost, we should take the responsibility of appraising the local municipal corporations, RWAs, state governments of this stay. It is our moral obligation. Had this notice been sent earlier, many dogs would not have lost their lives. So please take a copy of this order and along with a cover letter explaining the stay, kindly serve it to your local body in your city before they start killing. Its a shame if a single dog looses its life after this stay aganst killing has been given to us as a boon. Many municipal corporatiojns do not know about this stay. Please give a copy of this stay to your local police station in case any Resident or resident welfare association of your locality threaten to kill dogs. Despite these reminders people write to us crying that dogs have been killed in their areas, even after the copy of the order was circulated around in mass. All it takes is a little effort to avoid such incidences. Rishi Dev, Citizens For Animal Rights (CFAR), New Delhi. Article 51A of the Indian Constitution . . .
