I am a researcher working on whale sharks. We use photo-id to monitor this species on a global scale - incorporating computer-assisted matching of images (see http://rolexawards.com/en/the-laureates/bradnorman-the-project.jsp). We would like to adapt our system for leopards. One thing we need to do is get in touch with researchers who may have worked on photo-id of these species. However, I have had limited success identifying relevant persons. One of the main things is to have proof that the skin patterns in leopards are unique to each individual. Any thoughts / advice you could proovide would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance Brad.
