Guest guest
This can¹t be true! This one is personal. I have a 50kg Alsatian named Krypto. He is truly a super-dog and I can see him parachuting or paragliding just for the fun of it. But putting dogs into combat must be against the Geneva convention - isn't¹ it!?! It seems like once again this breed is subject to the wims of man and war, just as the Nazis Shepherds were trained to round-up herds of Jews to be burnt in the ovens during WWII. Just as the Americans used GSDs in Vietnam and then left them behind, abandoned worse then any other Vietnam veteran ever was. I guess some may say that Animals have always been used to do human bidding during conflict; the Horse, the Donkey, the Dolphin. ³Look at the lives they¹ve saved!² Or better put another way, look at the lives they are helping to take. This is horrible. Please, if anyone knows the contact details of the person responsible for this project let me know. I will personally deliver a letter to the British Embassy here in KTM accompanied by a pack of GSDs wearing faded military gear with peace insignias sewn to the shoulders. Placards across their back may read: ³Don¹t Throw Us Out of Planes, Throw Us Balls Instead...or...Make Love Doggie-Style, Not War. Seriously, let me know if others are protesting this one. Deserves a website and a petition at least I can dress Krytpo in shalwar kameez and shoot a closeup of his terrifying growl (his bark is worse) and caption the photo ³Come Get Me Fido² for the banner of the site. This just really pisses me off... Fearless German Shepherds are being trained by the British special forces to jump from aircraft at 25,000 feet to fight the Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan. After being parachuted in hostile terrain in Afghanistan, the dogs will lead the assault in SAS raids to seek out Taliban and Al Qaeda insurgents. The dogs will be used in a highly-skilled technique called " High Altitude High Opening " , jumping as much as 20 miles from their targets and gliding towards them for up to 30 minutes. The canine, with tiny cameras fixed to their heads, will beam live TV pictures back to the troops, warning of ambushes or showing enemy leaders locations, the Sun of Britain said on Monday. The amazing tactic has been devised to cut down the soaring casualty rates in Afghanistan and Iraq. " The dogs will be exposed to very high levels of danger on these operations and you never know what's going to be behind a door. Nobody wants to see the dogs get killed but if its their life or a mans it is obvious which the CO would prefer, an SAS source said. Americas most elite unit the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, commonly known as Delta Force, has pioneered the skills for jumping with dogs from heights over 20,000ft. Guest guest
> " The dogs will be exposed to very high levels of danger on these operations< Why cannot they clone human soldiers and send them instead. Is this any different from what the so called 'Terrorists' have been doing doing worldwide? It is time we adapt to the use of words such as 'terrorism' and 'murder' for every species instead of 'poaching/ culling' etc maybe then the fight for animals can be defended better.
