Pelican rescued from the poachers in midnight from the Mewat region.

Dear friends,

In the midnight of 4th. February, 2009 - PFA Haryana got a information about

firing on a Pelican & the bird was rescued by the villagers, OIPA INDIA &

PFA Haryana team rushed to the site under Police cover to rescue the bird

for treatment, care & shelter. Bird was attacked by the poachers, wings &

leg was broken / disloacated, trated at Animal Hermitage Jeev Kalyan Vatika

- a rescue centre run by the PFA Haryana then sent to the Wild Life sos bear

rescue facility on Delhi Agra NH-2.

Special thanks to the villagers along with the Wild Life sos team - who gave

proper treatment to the bird .......cheers.
