Guest guest
Hello all, I just met WSPA representatives Dave Eastham and Neil D'Cruze at our NOIDA office. As many of you will know, WSPA has been of steadfast support to the anti elephant polo campaign In India and elsewhere. They have also supported the Indian Zoo Inquiry project and have developed research guidelines for surveying captive animal facilities(Discussed athe last AfA conference in Bali). WSPA is currently in partnership with WTI to find out ways to aid the Kalandar Rehabilitation work on the dancing bear campaign. I had an enlightening session with both Mr Eastham and Mr D'Cruze and was pleased to note that the World Association of Zoos and Aquaria had invited WSPA representatives for a zoo meeting to hear the welfare perspective on animals in captivity. They are also working on some collaborative projects with zoos in England. The WSPA WTI partnership on the Sloth Bear Conservation and Welfare project has made significant progress over the years. But to be fair, Wildlife SOS and International Animal rescue are also doing good work. The same issue is being tackled from two different perspectives. I personally would prefer to see a cross pollination of ideas and information between these two groups since they are working on similar issues. Best wishes and kind regards,
