Guest guest
---------- Forwarded message ---------- Diana Singh Roy Sat, Apr 18, 2009 at 3:40 AM Complaint against BSPCA made by Vishaya Kumtekar Nilesh Bhanage <nilesh Dear Nilesh, Do read the following. I was surprisd that you did not refute her allegations. Diana Respected Sir/Madam The role of the BSPCA is very clear. We are for stray animal welfare and that is one of our main missions and objectives. All effort is made to provide the best possible service, treatment and care. A reporter from Mid-Day had investigated Ms Vishaya Kumtekar's matter in detail, and was satisfied, and also confirmed that we are doing our best to provide the best of treatment and help for stray animals and also helping NGOs, volunteers, animal lovers etc. We are always responsive to genuine needs. It is only those taking undue advantage and those who misuse our services and facilities who have a problem. We are strict against them, to prevent cruelty to animals in name of welfare. We have not stopped any volunteer or animal lover entering the hospital. SPCA had held out a helping hand to Ms Vishaya Kumtekar, and we refute all allegations made by her. In fact Hospital staff informed Ms Vishaya Kumtekar several time about the discharge of her animal. Keeping an animal longer than necessary in the hospital is cruelty. We also make sure that a discharged animal is sent to the address provided. The driver on duty was confused about the address given on the card, and I instructed him to check with the nearby fish market. After which he confirmed to me that the animal was released at the Khar address, and another animal was release at Goregaon on same day. Ms Vishaya Kumtekar, spoke to me at length and in short her message to me was - I will make your life miserable by writing to media and everyone, and make a big issue for you. - I will make sure that you are thrown out of the organisation. - You are big fraud, eating money and so on. In our hospital almost 75-80% of stray animals are treated free every month. Our role and mission is clear, we help stray animals and people in need of our services for their animals but not those who set out to do charity at our cost.. The BSPCA runs a hospital and not a permanent shelter. I can't satisfy each and everyone's ego, and neither allow them to be cruel to animals. Ms Kamtekar's behaviour was uncalled for . Perhaps threatening people is her way of handling things. I do my duty with sincerity and honesty and PAWS who have availed of our help time again should perhaps message their experience to give witness to our work. Thanks-N-Regards Dr. Yuvraj R. Guest guest
[Note from Moderator: I possibly shouldn't have allowed this thread to start but, it having started, I had to let all sides have their say. I think it has brought out some interesting points which apply to all animal welfare organisations everywhere. However, this post below is the last I will allow on this matter - unless someone has something really new to say. John.] I really wish and will be very happy if SPCA could have been atleast 1% of what they have claimed in their below msg. I am regular at SPCA for the last five/six years, We are facing problem for the last 1 1/2 yrs. We never had problems before during the time of Dr Sutar. Everything was perfect....Why only now we are facing problems?? If all was so well then why would we complain!! ...Just because SPCA is a big name they are always right and because common people like me point out the negative side we are always wrong and we are taking advantage??? Thats means nobody should point out the negative side, Correct ?? And by the way what services and facilities SPCA is talking about... As far as I know I have never avail of any facilities from SPCA.. I have paid fully for all the animals admitted that too stray. We are working class people and we shell out from our hard earned salary to give treatments to the stray animals and if the same animals is in pain due to negiligence of some people at SPCA, we will definitely feel the pain and I will always speak on behalf of the animals. I too refute all the allegations made by Dr Yuvraj SPCA... As he said SPCA have made several calls to me regarding the discharge of my cat... Can they show me the proof???.. But yes I have the proof.. I can show my itemised bills.. There is no calls received from SPCA regarding the discharge. How can SPCA Change tables. One has to be brave and courageous enough to own up the mistake and one has to be courageoous enough to point out the mistake and negative side. As he said the animals was left at Khar.. then why would I complain. Am I mad or insane to just go complain for nothing. Come On we have enough other better work to do than just complain for no reason. As Dr Yuvraj has said that I threatened him that I will make his life miserable and approach the higher authority and so on. YES, I did say it during our conversation.....But anyone of you did not even bother to think what made me say so....He is only giving one side of the story what about he threatening me that not to bring the animals to the hospital in future for treatment and raising his voice when he called me up which made me loose my cool and there was heated arguments. There has to be some sort of decency to talk to a lady which he lacks ( I am sorry to say that). One has to give a clear picture and not just cover oneself which shows a sheer cowardness. It is mentioned I threatened people... Am I a Jihadi or a terrorist to threaten people.. I have no other work???.. Can he name the people whom I have threatened and for what? Really ridiculous and even more ridiculous is people reading it believes it just because it is come from the Great SPCA. Disgusting.... All I have realised now Truth will always take the backseat in front of all the hypocrisy going on in the name of animals.
