Guest guest
Dear All, NGOs have a disadvantaged tag because of a few. And why should one suffer for the known mistakes of the other. What Vishaya clearly mentions is that this is the case with the strays mostly. She deals with the strays. It was one and a half year ago she had to spend a lot of money transferring 10 cats to our shelter because there was no help at Mumbai ! I cannot believe this that MUmai has no animal shelters around and needs her help so far to transfer. I often received complaints from animal lovers of mumbai on this and my suggestion was to deal with the administrators directly. They remain clearly afraid that the BSPCA administrators would make the animals suffer if they complaint was the main reason for them to stay back and this was Vishaya's last choice after all her efforts failed. Kakinada SPCA one of the longest SPCA of India is now under phased transition under new managment after the erstwhile Board was exposed with such facts. The inspections that we carryout on behalf of the Board shows 90% noncompliance of the Shelters. Yet the pressure is brought on with " high recommendations " . It is for us not to fall under these pressures fight strongly for the animals. I will say this much that if practices like these are allowed to function then we will all be under the scanner. Also after umpteen times they do not change then for the sake of animal welfare we need to make a change. In a way when we are correcting these measures we help the animals. If this is allowed to continue with all our knowledge then it will only means that we are part of it and if we cannot stop this how are we and how justified are we to fight for the animals on the roads ? This only figures to one fact? If I am at fault then correct me and if I continue then I am to be punished.. Will not the Board be a part of this and not take action? To remind and say this that Vishaya's message was a part of the media campaign and this was forwarded on her request to you all. Everywhere around us are animals suffering but with innovative ideas and plans the problems can be met. It is not necessary that we get into the act of torturing and be a part of decisions that are illegal to animal welfare. I will agree that mistakes are made but mistakes like these are not tolerable and in the shelter. Kind regards, Pradeep.
