(IN) stopping of animal sacrifice at the jai durga temple of Kedar,Hajo,Assam

This is the first step for people for animals ,guwahati,assam,its volunteers

along with the chairperson was able to stop the killing of seventeen goats

,hundred and more ducks and pigeons at the jai durga temple of hajo (forty kms

from the guwahati city of Assam) it was possible to convince the the locals that

were sacrificing anmals in the name of religion since time immemorable,(temple

was established during the Ahom rule,1775 and since animals were sacrificed,that

comes to 234 years)on the maha nobomi puja day the volunteers of pfa along with

some locals at the leadership of Nripen Bhagawati was successful in convincing

people not to kill animals and birds but to set them free.It was a moment of

great joy for all the members when all the dovotees with animals and birds set

them free instead of killing them.I personally am grateful to mr bhagawati of

hajo for inviting us there
