Guest guest
On Jan 12th...Lallu was shot at by a drunk motorist who found its barking annoying and tried to run-over the dog but the locals intervened and took the poor thing to a local vet. Lallu is much better now thanks to the excellent medical aid n care that he recd at the hands of the vet.Poor thing had a badly mutilate..butd limb n used to walk with a limp but now hes ok. Is this the way we treat a fellow creature?? What kind of world are we creating??? This is simply atrocious!!! Had it not been for those good samaritans & the vet Lallu would have died a painful & bloody death like his other mates!!!!!!!
Guest guest
What the hell is wrong with Lucknow residents? Just check this link below. This incident of shooting a dog happened in January 2009, and now we have yet another sequel to this. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/rssarticleshow/msid-4023541,prtpage-1.cms LUCKNOW: Subedar, Devi Baksh Tiwari found himself behind bars on Friday. And it was all due to a bullet he had aimed at his enemy -- a dog in this case. As the embarrassed retired fauji cools his heels in Krishnanagar lock up, shocked family members are running around consulting lawyers, pleading with the policemen and coping with the general ridicule the incident has generated among their friends and acquaintances. It all began with Tiwari's plan to pay a visit to his daughter who stays a stone's throw away, in Jai Prakash Nagar. He thought of first buying a gift for his daughter and thus headed towards the market. He was on his way back from the market place when the stray dog spotted him and took an instant dislike to him for some curious reason. Tiwari at first tried to ignore his vicious barks and continued to walk ahead but the dog proved to be too determined to be taken casually. As Tiwari quickened his pace the canine also kept up, ignoring his fierce glare all the time. When the dog literally began to snap at his heels the retired army man got alarmed. His sincere attempts to shoo away the dog, as he claimed before the authorities later, failed to have any impact, so in sheer desperation he did what anyone else would have done -- hit the dog, the only difference in the case being that he chose his service revolver, which he always carries but hardly uses, as the weapon of defence. The shot rang through and sent a panic wave among the local residents who got out to inquire what had happened. The dog lying in a pool of blood and Tiwari standing with a smoking revolver told its own tale. As the information flashed on their wireless sets, the cops rushed to the site only to see a crime being committed against the animal contrary to what they usually witness. Later, however, the police themselves lodged a case against Tiwari under section 11 of Cruelty to Animals Act. The firearm used in the incident was also seized.
