I visited Pakistan in September 2008 and was pained to see that Lahore Zoo and

Safari were having African Lions. The Place which was abode of Asiatic Lions

(undivided India), is deprived of those due to indiscrminate Poaching.

I also saw various Varieties of Peacocks at Lahore Zoo and Safari. The Variety

of Peacocks is more than Indian Zoo but due to keeping them in same enclosure

Hybrids have been produced. moreover planned breeding is lacking there. However,

at Multan I saw Green Java Pea fowls in a Private House, They were Excellant..

similarly steps are needed to breed and preserve chakor (Chukar Chukar),which is

probably national Bird of Pakistan.
