Guest guest
> " Entertainment tax on the national park has left us puzzled as Dudhwa and other sanctuaries covered under Wildlife Protection Act serve as a medium to educate people towards wildlife protection and conservation besides environment and eco-development awareness, " said P P Singh, Deputy Field, Dudhwa National Park.< Ms Mayawati, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh state is under the scanner for ordering several massive life size elephant statues for the state at the cost of Rs.70 Lakh each (approximately 1,45,834 USD each). Well, do not mistake her for being an animal lover. This she has done not to showcase her compassion towards the animal, but because the 'elephant' is her party symbol. Read here form more on her ambitious protect: http://ibnlive.in.com/news/mayawati-gets-statuetory-warning-from-sc/95951-37.htm\ l I am surprised as to why the Park Director is now puzzled at the Wildlife Parks & Sanctuaries being taxed. This was more or less expected of a state whose Chief Minister loves lifeless elephants. The state needs money Mr. Director for lifeless animals more than is required for the welfare of the animals and their habitats. Do not be surprised if the existing pension scheme of the living working elephants of UP state gets withdrawn. http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/india-news/jumbos-at-dudhwa-national-park-re\ ceive-pension_10099496.html Azam On Thu, Jul 23, 2009 at 5:35 PM, Radhika Singh <princess_rads10wrote: > > > > http://in.news./20/20090723/1416/tnl-dudhwa-national-park-to-be-brought\ -u.html > > Dudhwa National Park to be brought under UP tax net > > Thu, Jul 23 11:23 AM > > Abhinav Pandey Lakhimpur (UP) July 23 (PTI) The world famous Dudhwa > National Park will now be covered under the ambit of entertainment tax > levied by the Uttar Pradesh government.
