Following a recent amendment in the entertainment tax regulation, the local administration here has slapped a notice on park authorities seeking details on inflow of tourists and revenue earned during the last five years. " We have sought a detailed information from authorities on revenue as the recent amendment in the entertainment regulations has brought the national park under the ambit of the entertainment tax, " District Entertainment officer P K Srivastava said. He claimed that as the park caters to the entertainment needs of tourists and visitors, the entertainment department is entitled to collect tax from it. The park authorities, however, object to the move and have petitioned the district magistrate on the issue. " Entertainment tax on the national park has left us puzzled as Dudhwa and other sanctuaries covered under Wildlife Protection Act serve as a medium to educate people towards wildlife protection and conservation besides environment and eco-development awareness, " said P P Singh, Deputy Field Director, Dudhwa National Park. ..
